NPR Premieres KEATON HENSON Track and Clip
The NPR music show All Songs Considered has just featured the hauntingly emotive track “Teach Me” by English sensation Keaton Henson in their podcast. http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/. The song is from Henson's new album Birthdays out this April 9th via Anti-. Already a celebrated visual artist Henson has recently amassed both critical acclaim and growing fan base as a singer-songwriter of immense talent and emotional presence. Last year's self-recorded debut record Dear was described by Time Out as “spine-tinglingly poignant.” An early review of Birthdays by the BBC proclaims, “Henson’s stripped-back sound is almost shocking in its purity.”
NPR has also just debuted a clip for Henson's track “You” as part of their First Watch Series. The clip features the English artist alone in the barren California desert offering a heartfelt rendition of the song. Director Lee Boxleitner explains, “I knew exactly what Keaton wanted when he said he wanted to shoot in the desert. It was blisteringly hot and windy but I think it helped the feel of the film. Everything in the film, we just happened to come across, from a store in the middle of the desert selling antiques to a small shop that sold knives, beef jerky, and authentic Native American rugs. During the last shot of the video where Keaton is walking down the dirt road, we began to hear gun shots, and decided that was the perfect time to end the adventure.”
Henson writes of their experience, “You is a song about life and death in other's arms. The desert was hot and ironically devoid of life. Thank you for listening, yours, earnestly – Keaton Henson.”

The famously reclusive Henson will mark the album's release with two very rare live performances. The first will occur on April 8th at the Housing Works Bookstore in New York City and was recently profiled in the New Yorker. Then on April 11th Henson will play a sold out show in Los Angeles at the Masonic Temple in the historic Hollywood Forever cemetery.
