Thanks List

I want to thank Joe Henry for assembling a group of some of the best musicians I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Van Dyke Parks is an old friend from exciting times in Hollywood years ago. Jay Bellrose thrilled me with some of the most unusual sounds ever pounded and tickled out of a drum. David Hidalgo swang some sweet sadness outa’ his squeeze-box and guitar. Greg Leisz picked some very nice guitar and dobro. And thanks to the eye contact to David Piltch on bass. And Joe organized an organ player Keefus to add texture, although this session wasn’t over organized, - more than like a jam session. My own loose approach to the vocals was aided by the fact that I didn’t learn any of the lyrics beforehand. Just listened to ‘em twice a day for three months. I was Reading the Printed word into a Very Nice microphone. Andy and Joe selected the songs they thought I’d like to do. I wasn’t sure, but now I am. I hope you like this too.

Jack
