Yet another standout track from the new Mavis Staples album Livin’ On A High Note entitled “Tomorrow” is premiering care of Okayplayer.
The track merges a classic pop accessibility with the understated bravado of sixties R&B and Stax soul. It was penned for Staples by multi instrumentalist Jon Batiste and soul artist Aloe Blacc, who said of the project, "Mavis is a living legend! What an honor it is to have her iconic voice grace the song I co-wrote with Jon Batiste."
