DR. DOG PREMIERES NEW VIDEO VIA

Consequence of Sound

The Psychedelic Swamp Out February 5th

Band Starts North American Tour

Dr. Dog is premiering a brand new video for their song “Bring My Baby Back” via Consequence Of Sound. The track is from The Psychedelic Swamp, an album inspired by a mysterious correspondence the group received from an enigmatic figure name Phrases who hails from the before mentioned Psychedelic Swamp. The message simply asked the band to “record a great pop album” which they felt compelled to do. The end result will be made public on February 5th.

The video for “Bring My Baby Back” is an intriguing work which might fall under the relatively obscure cinematic genre of “hallucinatory film noir.” It appears to very loosely reference the Raymond Chandler classic “Farewell My Lovely”  if that story had unfolded in a parallel universe.

As the band’s Toby Leaman explains, “I was a little nervous working with Zach (Miller) for the first time because he's so good in those Pixar movies. But I just did the magic trick of looking him right in the eyes and screaming ‘Action!’ And I realize now, after re-watching some of my earlier classics, that my entire oeuvre has been merely a prelude to this, my personal masterpiece. Also, I couldn't have picked a songwriter I'm more personally attached to.  What a ride. With love, T. L."
