The Antlers is Peter Silberman, Darby Cicci and Michael Lerner. Silberman founded The Antlers in 2006 as a solo project and released two bedroom-recorded LPs before enlisting Cicciand Lerner to round out the group. As a trio they recorded and released 2009’s breakout Hospice and Burst Apart, as well as the 2012 EP Undersea. Their fifth full length, Familiars, is out now on Anti- Records. NPR calls the record “sure-handed and ambitious” and praises “its emotional openness, its rich sound, its mix of subtlety and grandiosity, [and] its funereal beauty,” while The Onion’s A.V. Club says it “boasts the band’s most wonderfully expansive songwriting” and Flavorpill says it “deserves your undivided attention.”
