NEW SAINTSENECA VIDEO PREMIERES VIA STEREOGUM

Band Announces New North American Dates

Stereogum is premiering a brand new video from Ohio based band Saintseneca. The clip is for the song “How Many Blankets Are in the World” from their acclaimed recent release Such Things, an album which found the band adopting a more straight ahead and heavier, albeit still innovative, sound. “ Saintseneca is no longer a folk band,” All Music Guide proclaimed. “Mourn if you want, but when a record is this good, who the hell cares?"

The video, directed by Jon Washington, features band singer and songwriter Zac Little performing alone while walking slowly through a large dimly lit drainage pipe. As Little explains, “I first explored this tunnel with some friends. After hearing the eerie echo of footsteps and voices, I knew it would a good place to sing a song.”

The simple evocative imagery provides a powerful metaphor for the songs profound and contemplative lyrics “Life is long, long enough to be mean, life is short, short enough to mean something to those who long” - with Little eventually emerging from the darkened tunnel into the light as he finishes.

Saintseneca are currently finishing a run of successful European dates and heading back to North America for a series of shows both headlining and teaming with the band Thao And The Get Down Stay Down.
