SAINTSENECA SINGLED OUT IN ROLLING STONE'S 10 BEST DISCOVERIES AT CMJ

Performance Video of “Uppercutter” Now Available

Anti- artist Saintseneca delivered a standout performance at CMJ in New York last week.  Rolling Stone singled out the band as one of their 10 Best Discoveries, writing, “Rocking a monk's tonsure and antebellum moustache, in a dark vest, shirt and slacks, frontman Zac Little represented like an introverted backwoods preacher under Cake Shop's low basement ceiling, singing about acid rain and dying young in a cracking, nasal tone that was addictively tart. Huddled around two mics, his bandmates (notably key foil Maryn Jones) delivered hollered harmonies that felt more like collective bloodletting than sing-along-shilling bonhomie, and more potent for it.  They have an LP out in April on Anti-, and it's a gem.”

Feastofmusic.com also raved, “Columbus, Ohio's Saintseneca played straight to my heart with their piercing lyrics, with guitars, ukeleles, and a thumping drum that sounded like the haunting beat of a peyote ceremony. Lead singer Zac Little even had the saloon look down, with his big red mustache and matted hair shaved on the sides. Their closer, "Blood Bath," really sent the basement on fire, the players descending into chaos before erupting into a joyous anthem. The unforseen success of the folk-rock genre has spurned a host of imitators seeking to cash in, but few genuine avatars. Count Saintseneca among them. "

Saintseneca is currently featured in a filmed performance from Bad Racket Studios in Cleveland, Ohio. The clip captures the band's haunting new song “Uppercutter,” an emotionally charged merging of exuberant rural folk and an inventive harmonic post punk. It is from the band's 7 inch Anti- debut EP which was released last week accompanied by the track “Visions.” Both songs are from the band's full length album Dark Arc which arrives in stores April 1, 2014.

The clip at Bad Racket features the band's singer-songwriter Zac Little talking about the inspiration for “Uppercutter” followed by a stirring performance by the entire band. It can viewed at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goAZIsU3FSs&feature=youtu.be
