SO MUCH LIGHT
PREMIERES NEW SINGLE
 “BAD NEWS” VIA IMPOSE

SONG FEATURES VIVIAN

It’s alt-pop in the same world as Flume or How to Dress Well,
morose and triumphant and serene all at once.” – PopMatters

New wave pop artist, So Much Light (aka Damien Verrett), delivers “Bad News” in his new single in the most upbeat way, with help from singer-songwriter VIVIAN. You can listen to the song via Impose here.

As Verrett explains, I started writing this song towards the end of a relationship. I was looking for break-up songs and wishing I could find something to listen to that was more reflective of my feelings. I was sad and confused, but I also understood that going forward I still wanted this person in my life and that in order to make that happen I needed to end up in a place of understanding rather than bitterness. Getting VIVIAN on the track was a no-brainer. I feel like she views the world through a clearer lens than mine and I needed her perspective to help make the track feel balanced”

VIVIAN adds, “To me, it's about being in that in-between space with someone you love... Maybe the relationship is ending but you aren't ready to let go of it yet; so confusion and chaos are wrestling there. Love relationships are reflectors too, so it's also about confronting the dark parts within yourself that come to face you in the mirror when you are intimate with another person. We want to find common understanding again, or at least some sort of resolution from being in limbo."

Additionally, So Much Light will perform a handle of shows in California this month. Including, the Strawberry Girls CD release shows in Fullerton and Los Angeles.

So Much Light unites the electronic indie charms of Toro Y Moi and Flume with the courage and swagger of R&B stars like, Neyo and The Weeknd. Elements of soul are combined with thoughtful arrangements and production; an evocative poetry counterbalanced by a self-deprecating sarcasm, all layered effortlessly over some truly virtuoso guitar playing. Late last year So Much Light released a powerful five-song digital EP entitled Idiot Soul on Anti- Records. Since then, So Much Light has released three singles “Justin Bieber At The Gates Of Hell,” “Nothing But Your Love (ft. Natalie Evans),”and “Simple How I Feel”.
