THE MILK CARTON KIDS Featured in New PBS Documentary "Nashville 2.0: The Rise of Americana"
Plus, New Video: Live at Hill Drive
This November 22nd, a new PBS documentary will explore the cultural rise of the vibrant Americana music scene, a genre the New York Times dubbed “the coolest music scene today”. Americana is roots-inspired music that emphasizes the traditions of folk, country, bluegrass, blues, gospel, and rock 'n roll. The film tracks the endlessly morphing musical genre whose heart is in Nashville but whose reach is worldwide. From Emmylou Harris to Mumford & Sons, Rosanne Cash to The Mavericks, and rising new stars like Shovels & Rope and The Milk Carton Kids, Nashville 2.0 celebrates America’s influential musical melting pot.
PBS filmed The Milk Carton Kids' performance at the Ryman Auditorium during the Americana Music Association's Honors & Awards ceremony where they were nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year, as well as their performance at the AMA showcase at South By Southwest this March in Austin, TX.
The Milk Carton Kids are on tour now across the U.S. Their second studio album, The Ash & Clay, was released this March on Anti- Records.
