THE MILK CARTON KIDS INVITED TO PLAY GRAND OLE OPRY

Duo To Tour North America Venues In Support of
Acclaimed Album Monterey

On August 11th, Los Angeles duo The Milk Carton Kids are genuinely thrilled to be performing at the historic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville Tennessee. Founded in 1925 as a one hour radio “barn dance,” the legendary show has hosted some of the greatest artists in country music including Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Ernest Tubb and The Dixie Chicks. This will be Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan’s first appearance at the opry.

The Milk Carton Kids Grand Ole Opry performance will be broadcast live locally on 650AM/WSM and streamed online at: Opry.com.

The acclaimed duo wrote their latest release entitled Monterey on stages of concert halls, churches, and theaters across North America. The process that allowed them to perform with the same fearlessness and spontaneity usually only achieved in concert. NPR Music host Robin Hilton said if the album, “their voices, their harmonies, their melodies...just so breathtaking.”

The duo will be touring this Fall in support of Monterey performing in the biggest and most prestigious venues of their career. From New York City’s Town Hall, to Los Angeles’s Theatre at The Ace Hotel, to Atlanta’s Symphony Hall, the ideal settings have been chosen to enable the duo to replicate the nuances and dynamics of their stirring new album.

The meticulously curated dates of this tour will provide established fans and newcomers alike exemplary settings in which to experience The Milk Carton Kids - two intricately intertwining voices and guitars, immensely potent songwriting, and doses of genuinely entertaining between-song banter.

ACCLAIM FOR THE MILK CARTON KIDS’ MONTEREY:

"Simply gorgeous.” - Uncut

“The universe is a chaotic place, but stepping into the world of the Milk Carton Kids makes it all better. On its third album, “Monterey,” the Los Angeles acoustic folk duo consisting of of Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan continues to inspire comparisons to Simon and Garfunkel and the Everly Brothers. But beneath the exquisite guitar work, lovely harmonies and gentle sway of the music, things are simmering.” - SF Chronicle

"This is the closest they’ve come to capturing the majestic intimacy of their concerts. It’s no slight to say there’s not much here beyond the classic songcraft, the splendor of their high-lonesome harmonies, and the way their guitars entwine and frame the songs so beautifully. That’s enough to cast a spell. - The Boston Globe

"Everything here is brimming over with the heart and soul of folk music, and Pattengale’s impressive lead guitar adds its sparkling magic to every tune.” - Relix

"Two unassuming guys dressed in suits, singing subdued original songs in close harmony with acoustic guitars, doesn't seem like a likely 21st-century musical success story. That is, until you see and hear Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan perform live around a single microphone. The two Los Angeles residents have extraordinary musical communication, and their songs really come alive onstage.” - World Cafe
