AV Club Previews Anticipated Album/Tour Dates Announced

The AV Club will be streaming the explosive new album by THE COUP entitled Sorry To Bother You this October 22nd. The record doesn’t hit stores until October 30th but it’s already generating an intense buzz with the music press. You can stream the album here: http://www.avclub.com/articles/hear-an-exclusive-advance-stream-of-the-coups-new,86830/

THE COUP's record is an audacious new work by a visionary band, merging danceable beats, punk urgency and the astute social commentary of hip-hop to craft a refreshingly unique sound that draws from the past but never sounds anything but futuristic.

Sorry to Bother You was co-produced by Coup leader Boots Riley and Damion Gallegos at Chub Studio in Oakland. The record features guest appearances by Anti-Flag, Das Racist, Killer Mike, Japanther, Jolie Holland, Vernon Reid, and Joe Henry among others. It was recently included in Spin Magazine’s recent “25 Fall Albums You Gotta Hear” list, where they described it as “a hip-hop broadside at its core, but also integrates aggro punk guitar and danceable, '80-influenced beats.”

THE COUP will be taking their notorious live show on the road for a series of highly anticipated live dates on the first half of their North American Tour. Dates for the second half of the tour, which begins in late January, will be announced soon.
