Brooklyn based artist Tim Fite has just unveiled a fascinating behind the scenes look into the making of his upcoming album Ain't Ain't Ain't exclusively at href="http://www.pastemagazine.com/blogs/av/2011/12/video-premiere-tim-fite-behind-the-scenes-of-new-a.html">Paste Magazine. Unlike the previous entries in Fite's acclaimed Ain't trilogy, Fair Ain't Fair and Gone Ain't Gone, both of which were assembled by sampling the music of strangers, Ain't Ain't Ain't utilizes a library of sounds, recorded by Fite and a small cadre of friends, for the sole purpose of reconstructive self-sampling.
Fite is a distinctly original talent, heralded as "one of rock 'n' roll's most subversive renaissance men" by Esquire Magazine. His latest work Ain't Ain't Ain't is the best record of his career and will be released March 6th 2012 via ANTI- Records. The sound of the new record reveals Fite as a songwriter of startling ability. The songs focus on the pain, resilient hope and unbridled passion of one's teen years. "This record is shamelessly clad in the high hopes of high-school hot pants, just as much as it is ashamed of its insecurities and aging self-awareness," Fite explains. "Like cafeteria lunch tables, Ain't Ain't Ain't is as vulnerable as it is invincible. I hope that anyone who knows what it is to be a teenager might see their reflection in these songs, and feel more alive."
This enlightening video takes viewers behind the scenes into the making of Fite's new album. You see an artist pushing past pre existing boundaries and ardently exploring new territories. The result is a work of heart wrenching honesty and epic sonic discovery, the songs and sounds brilliantly capturing the promise and frailty of growing up. As Fite explains, "The songs on Ain't Ain't Ain't are reminders of who we were, who we are, and who we may come to be."
