Japandroids Announce Fall Tour Dates, New 7"
It’s apt praise for the exhilarating two piece rock band seemingly bent on revitalizing the genre.
Today, the band will be releasing a 7” featuring “North East South West” as the A-Side and a cover of Dead Moon’s “Fire In The Western World” as the B-Side. The disc will be available through the band’s web store http://kr-m.co/japandroidsofficial and on the forthcoming tour. A digital version of the 7” will launch on all streaming services and DSPs on May 16th.
Japandroids are also slated to appear on the renowned music show Later...with Jools Holland this week.
The live broadcast at 10pm GMT May 9 - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08qlfvf
Broadcast #2 at 11pm GMT May 12 - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08qlg9p
Japandroids will head back on the road this Fall for a series of North American live dates in support of the acclaimed new record, which The Atlantic called “one of the best pure rock ’n’ roll albums of the decade.”
Like their previous albums Post-Nothing and Celebration Rock, Near To The Wild Heart Of Life contains 8 songs. This is because 8 songs is the standard template for a great rock n roll album: Raw Power by The Stooges, Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen, Marquee Moon by Television, IV by Led Zeppelin, Horses by Patti Smith, Paranoid by Black Sabbath, Remain In Light by Talking Heads, Master Of Puppets by Metallica, etc.

Acclaim for Near To The Wild Heart Of Life:
“with guitars soaring and grooves accelerating, the words feel undeniable, and you know that when you hear 'em in a club – or theater, or arena – you'll be bouncing off the walls, shouting every word.” - Rolling Stone “****”
“If Celebration Rock was two guys' way of romanticizing the messiness of a dramatic past — real and rediscovered — then Near To The Wild Heart Of Life is its natural sequel, re-envisioning youth as a passageway to a new and better place.” - NPR
“With their third, the Vancouver duo sounds positively born to run. Near to the Wild Heart of Life marks a huge leap forward in studio craft, stylistic diversity, and lyrical scope as it crosses the gap between punk and classic rock like the Clash’s London Calling or Green Day’s American Idiot.” - Entertainment Weekly “A-”
“One of the best pure rock ’n’ roll albums of the decade.” The Ringer
“Japandroids have always sought love and adventure in equal measure, and they get both on Near To The Wild Heart Of Life.” A.V. Club
“Japandroids Bring Beautiful Noise on Near to the Wild Heart of Life” - Spin
