Joe Henry will be appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this June 20th. The acclaimed musician and producer will be accompanied by heralded Irish singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan with whom Henry is currently co headlining a summer tour, interpreting old songs and rearranging new ones.
Henry is a multi Grammy winning producer with credits that include Solomon Burke, Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, Hugh Laurie, Bettye LaVette, Mose Allison, The Carolina Chocolate Drops and many more. His latest album Reverie is a raw and beautifully evocative album created when Henry and his fellow musicians convened in Henry's hallowed basement studio for days of joyous sonic exploration.
The magazine Mojo described Reverie as "a mesmeric, all-acoustic invocation of it's title, creaky old acoustic guitars, yellowed piano ivory and the rattle and thump of bandaged-sounding drums conjuring a late-night jam at the junk shop." American Songwriter called it "a raw, raucous and messy masterpiece."
Singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan continues to receive critical praise for her second full-length album entitled Passenger which was produced by Joe Henry. Rolling Stone said "her folksy songs move with deceptive power," while also proclaiming Hannigan an "Artist to Watch."
Henry recently told the Boston Globe of his collaboration with Hannigan, "I'm tremendously excited about it. There's not an artist working that I have more respect for than Lisa."
