Acclaimed Los Angeles musical duo The Milk Carton Kids have been nomiated for Best Emerging Artist of the Year for the 2013 Americana Music Association’s annual Honors & Awards, announced today.
Award winners will be announced September 18th from the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN and broadcast live on AXS TV. The Milk Carton Kids are Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan. Formed in Los Angeles, the duo's most recent album The Ash & Clay was heralded as “intimate and powerful, bittersweet and inspiring” by Performer Magazine and "like a dewy Everly Brothers, so sweet, funny and charming," by Time Out New York. They are currently on tour with appearances at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and the historic Newport Folk Festival as well as dates opening for Josh Ritter.
