About Delicate Steve's American Ruse (feat. Wayne Kramer)
Delicate Steve's new single "American Ruse" featuring Wayne Kramer is available now.
On working with Kramer, Delicate Steve said: “If you caught Delicate Steve live in the past two years, chances are you heard "American Ruse" by the MC5 in our pre-show mix before we took the stage. The idea that Brother Wayne Kramer of the MC5 would be down to record a new version of this tune was a bit far-fetched. When he spoke during a phone call and he agreed, the feeling of excitement I had was something I hadn't experienced in awhile. When we cut the track live in LA, Wayne did the vocal in one take.”
Patrick Carney of The Black Keys produced the track and fellow musicians Dan Horne and Richard Gowne (The Growlers) also played on it. All of the song’s proceeds will be going to Wayne Kramer’s Jail Guitar Doors Foundation, which helps get guitars in the hands of inmates in the hopes of providing a means of non-violent expression and self-esteem building while incarcerated.
