Dr. Dog Premiere "That Old Black Hole" Video Via Rolling Stone
Rollingstone.com is premiering a brand new Dr. Dog video today for their song "That Old Black Hole" from the band's anticipated upcoming album Be The Void. The clip was directed by George Salisbury who is renowned for his cinematic work with The Flaming Lips (Christmas On Mars, Watching The Planets, Stardeath and White Dwarfs - Borderline) . To watch the new video for Dr. Dog's "That Old Black Hole," visit Rolling Stone.
"That Old Black Hole" is a rough and tumble rocker propelled by a muscular bass line with washes of warm distortion and a spirited chorus. The video's rhythmic jump cuts create a raucous visual texture that perfectly captures the beautifully reckless energy of the song.
As director George Salisbury explains, "This video is the product of two manic, mate-fueled days in studio with no less than 144 complete takes in a non-stop performance marathon. The hypnotic result of this process-driven experiment gives the viewer a brief glimpse into both the disorienting lyrics and the wavering sanity of the band members across the two-day session."
Dr. Dog's album Be The Void arrives in stores February 7th via Anti-Records. The record is the raucous follow up to the group's critically lauded Shame, Shame. While the band's previous works boasted meticulously crafted symphonic pop, this time around the band turns up the guitars and delivers a truly great cathartic rock 'n' roll album played with near reckless abandon and passion.
