2005 Brit nomination for Tom Waits.
Tom Waits has been nominated for a Brit Award – the UK music industry’s most prestigious accolade.
Waits, who released the much acclaimed ‘Real Gone’ album in October last year, has been shortlisted in the International Male Solo Artist category. Also nominated for this award are Brian Wilson, Eminem, Kanye West and Usher.
This is the first time Waits has been nominated for a Brit. His performance on ‘Real Gone’ has also been recognised in America, where one of the songs – ‘Metropolitan Glide’ – has been shortlisted for a Grammy Award.
This year’s Brit Awards ceremony takes place at London’s Earl’s Court on Wednesday 9th February. It will be followed by the 2005 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday 13th February.
