The Dream Syndicate Reveal New Video, RSD Exclusive Vinyl

The Dream Syndicate made their name as a leader in the 80’s Paisley Underground music movement in Los Angeles, where the Los Angeles Times said that they “rocked with the highest degree of unbridled passion and conviction.”

Last year they released their first album in thirty years, How Did I Find Myself Here?,to much critical acclaim and this week they are excited to release their first-ever Record Store Day exclusive piece How We Found Ourselves…Everywhere!, a six-song black LP of outtakes, live recordings and B-sides. Today they are also revealing their new video for one of those songs, “Recurring: Steve’s Dream”. Watch the surrealist clip HERE.

"2017 was a pretty dizzying year for us,” explains band leader Steve Wynn of their recent revival and collaborating with Record Store Day for the first time. “Suddenly we had a new album that was getting a great response on its own terms. We hit the road and played shows all across Europe and the US and had some incredible experiences. We had never done anything for Record Store Day before and a documentation of where we'd been and what we'd done--almost like some kind of sonic travelogue-- seemed like a good theme for our first dip in the RSD waters."

TDS is also thrilled to have the legendary John Paul Jones on the RSD version of their song “How Did I Find Myself Here”. “We became friends and would see each other here and there ….” Wynn said. “[John] said he dug the song and wanted to play it on this really wild electronic, tricked-out purple lap steel guitar he had recently acquired. Man, it was wild. It has been great to get to know John in recent years and to become friends and play music and hang out together. But I still get giddy when I look over across the stage and say ‘Holy cow--that's John Paul Jones.’”

The Dream Syndicate will also be playing select shows around the Record Store Day piece, including LA’s legendary Troubador this Friday. All upcoming tour dates and the RSD vinyl track listing is listed below.
